Welcome to the official home of SAPPHIRE – Supra-African Physics Partnership for Health Innovation and Radiotherapy Expansion. This platform launches a UK-led initiative focused on advancing education, training, and collaborative research in support of more resilient radiotherapy systems across Africa.

Led by the University of Oxford, Lancaster University, and the University of Cambridge, SAPPHIRE works closely with partners in Ghana and South Africa to train early-career physicists, build institutional capacity, and support research into improving the performance of linear accelerator (M-LINAC) technology.

Through a combination of hands-on workshops, open-access tools, and data-informed learning, SAPPHIRE aims to strengthen clinical practice and foster sustainable development in cancer care infrastructure.

This website will serve as a hub for updates, training resources, and news from across our collaborative network.

Together, we are building knowledge, skills, and impact.
